The Problem
The missing middle
- Without family help, almost no young adults can afford to buy a home in the Portland area.
- Many older adults cannot afford the cost of maintaining the homes they have. For many, the design of the home has become challenging.

Young adults want to live in the neighborhoods they know and love, and older adults don’t want to sell and leave those neighborhoods.
Who we are
Our co-developers
This program is the brain and heart-child of Rachel Hemmingson, a maverick, social activist with deep understanding of residential real estate, mortgage lending, our current senior housing models, the economics financial advisors cannot help with, and life transitions. She has tinkered with this vision for many years. In the fall of 2025 she saw the stars align in the larger community, and sent out an invitation to people she knew and respected who might help. She was abundantly clear that this vision could in no way be realized by one person. A team was needed.
And a team stepped up and grew and evolved and here we are.
